An improved filter element assembly for use in an air cleaner on an internal combustion engine comprises a perforated liner. A replaceable filter element comprising a pleated filter medium is releasably coupled to the liner. A safety sleeve assembly is interposed between the filter medium and the liner. An outer liner surrounds the filter medium and exerts a radially inward force thereon to bias the pleats into engagement with the liner. The filter element assembly can be reconditioned when the filter medium becomes used with a replacement kit which includes a new filter element, safety sleeve assembly, and outer liner. The used filter element assembly is disassembled and the worn components thereof replaced with the new components of the kit. The filter medium is expandable from a collapsed cylindrical form in which the filter element is shipped to an expanded conical form for use during filtering operations.

The invention relates to devices for removing dust and other pollutants from air or similar gases, in particular, air cleaners for internal combustion engines. An air cleaner for an internal combustion engine is known, comprising a housing, a removable filter element including an outer elastic conical shell / inside of which a filter curtain with longitudinal folds is placed, a conical perforated liner, an o-ring seal on the larger base of the filter element and an end cap on a smaller base ClJ. The disadvantages of the known construction are high operating costs, since the replacement of the filter element due to the complexity of assembly and disassembly of air scavengers, and the high costs of transporting the filter elements during transportation from the factory and during their storage are eliminated. The purpose of the invention is to simplify montage and dismantle. The set goal is achieved. The air cleaner has a metal body 1, which is cylindrical and includes an internal filter chamber 2, a suction pipe 3 and an exhaust pipe 4. The body 1 is detachably or fixedly connected to the body of the truck. The air intake duct 3 is in communication with the flowing medium with ambient air, and the air exhaust duct 4 1 is attached in an appropriate manner to the air inlets of all cylinders in the internal combustion engine (not shown). One end of the housing 1 has a protruding outward or annular mounting flange or retaining ring 5, koTopoe passes around the entire periphery of the housing 1. The filter curtain 18 is made occate and can take a conical or cylindrical folded shape, identical to the shape of the inner liner 10. The filter curtain 18 has an end cap 19 made of molded polyurethane and attached to a smaller diameter curtain. The end cap 19 has an axial groove 20 that repeats the shape of the liner 10. In the groove 20, an annular locking groove 21 is provided in which the locking collar 13 located on the liner 10 is placed.
The filter curtain 18 can be made of paper and similar materials that can be chemically treated to acquire filtering properties.
The filter element 9 includes a conical outer shell 22. The smaller and larger base of the safety insert 10 are respectively smaller and larger bases of the filter curtain 18. The outer shell 22 is made of foamed urethane, has open pores and has elasticity. The formation of the outer shell 22 is carried out by rolling the sheet into a conical shape and joining the edge along butt-forming or overlapping. When joining, overlapping edges are made thinner, the joint is made by welding, but any other properties of the joint can be used.
The assembly of the filter element 9 is realized as follows.
The safety sleeve is worn on the inner liner 10f while it covers the inner liner 10 and May have a free end 23, made in a closed or open form. The upper end of the filter curtain 18 is fully expanded and placed inside the chamber 12 of the end cup 11, usually adjacent to. a radially protruding flange 16 of the annular gasket 15. The radially protruding flange 16 of the gasket 15 seals the upper end of the filter curtain 18 and is breathable relative to the end CIR 11.
The outer shell 22 is arranged with a voltage that causes a radially inward force on each of the folds. This force leads to engagement of the warehouse. The inner dock 10, in this case, it tends to ensure that all the folds are evenly spaced around the entire periphery of the filter by the curtain 18, and also serves to dampen any movement of the folds that may occur from vibration or air pressure fluctuations on the folds.

The operation of the air purifier is carried out as follows.

When the vehicle is moving, the air cleaner, fil1 / rubbing element 9 is installed on the filter, filters the combustion air entering the internal combustion engine of the truck. When replacing the filter element 9, all parts are replaced with the exception of the inner liner 10, which can be reused. The filter element 9 has advantages over the known ones, since the filter curtain can take on a cylindrical shape for transportation, while the size of the shipping containers 25 for the replacement kit can be greatly reduced. The weight of the kits is reduced by the absence of an inner liner 10.
Great savings in shipping and storage costs for replacement kits are achieved.
The advantage of this air cleaner is that the outer shell 22 acts as a pre-filter, increasing the service life of the filter curtains 18.
